Our low student/teacher ratio fosters high academic achievement. Our talented, certified faculty nurtures the personal intellect of each child. We promote independent critical thinking and creativity. Our goal is to kindle the spark of learning in each child. We offer a dual curriculum of challenging academic along Judaic studies. Our students scored significantly above the national norms on ERB’s standardized CTP 4 test. Our extracurricular subjects include art, music, physical education, library, and computer skills.

We are dedicated to guiding students as they develop a strong Jewish identity and appreciation for their Jewish heritage. We are invested in each child as an individual and take all opportunities to assist students in relating to Judaism in a way that is accessible and comfortable. This is accomplished in a variety of manners, including daily instruction and communal prayer, school-wide Shabbat and holiday celebrations, tzedakah and social action projects and interaction with the larger Jewish community.
Our Hebrew and Jewish Studies curriculum is based around imparting Jewish Customs, Values and Teachings through the following areas: Bible (Torah, Prophets and Writings), Torah Portion of the Week (Parashat HaShavua), Jewish Holidays, Modern Hebrew Language, and Tefillah (Prayer).
Our curriculum is based on a spiral plane. Each year students learn additional content, concepts, values, vocabulary and phrases, according to their grade level and comprehension. The goal of our Hebrew language program is to enable students to express themselves clearly, logically and correctly in written and oral Hebrew. We also emphasize our strong connection to the land and people of Israel in many ways throughout the year. Our Hebrew and Jewish Studies faculty come from across the spectrum of Jewish observance and make a conscious effort to promote understanding and Jewish pluralism. For further information, please contact judaica@nojds.com
