Endowment Opportunities

We have multiple ways for your contribution to our endowment to make a difference in the school. If making sure that all students can get a Jewish education is your passion then you may choose to give to our Financial Aid Endowment. Alternatively, many of our donors choose to give to our regular endowment that supports general operating costs. Naming opportunities for endowment gifts are available.

In addition to regular contributions to our endowment, we are pleased to work with the professionals at the Jewish Endowment Foundationof Louisiana to find the best vehicle foryour gift.  Some of our donors prefer to use one or more of the following options:

Charitable Remainder Trust

A charitable remainder trust can enable you to simultaneously make a charitable gift, enjoy a tax deduction, remove taxable assets from your estate and generate income for yourself, your family, or anyone else you choose - for life, or for a specified period. Upon your death and/or the death of all other beneficiaries, the remaining assets in the trust go to the charity(ies) you named.

Charitable Lead Trust

A charitable lead trust is designed to reduce beneficiaries' taxable income by first donating a portion of the trust's income to charities and then, after a specified period of time, transferring the remainder of the trust to the beneficiaries.

Transfer securities into NOJDS's stock account

For many donors this is a great way to avoid paying taxes on your stock appreciation. We are happy to walk you through the process. Your stock broker can easily assist you with the details.

Consultations available

While many of our donors have their own financial advisors, we are happy to help you consult with an expert in the field to help you decide on the appropriate vehicle through which you can support NOJDS. We work closely with the professionals at the Jewish Endowment Foundation of Louisiana, however, we are also happy to bring in outside experts to assist you in making the right choice.
