NOJDS Annual Math Contest: March 29, 2012

Are you looking for a way to challenge your brightest 4th and 5th grade students?  Would you like to give your students one more exciting reason to work on their mathematics abilities?  If so, then the New Orleans Jewish Day School Annual Math Contest is just for you.

It is our hope that this city-wide math contest for 4th and 5th grade students will foster the development of students’ problem solving abilities.  We also think that it will be a fun way for students from different schools to interact with one another.

The basics of the contest are simple.  Students will compete in teams of three.  The teams can be comprised of 4th graders, 5th graders, or a combination of both grades.  Schools may enter up to two teams (a total of six students).  The evening will be divided into two parts: an individual competition and a team competition.  The contest is aimed at 4th and 5th grade students; however, schools may choose to include 3rd graders if they feel it appropriate.

If you would like to join us for fun, food, and figures, please return your registration materials by March 1st.  If you have questions about the NOJDS Annual Math Contest, please contact Jennifer Baudy at jbaudy@nojds.com. Due to space limitations, only the first 30 teams will be accepted.

Looking forward to seeing you in March!
